It is one of those remote destinations of Nepal, still untouched by modernity and lying close to the Tibetan border. The valley has diverse landscapes comprising of pristine glaciers, high passes, alpine forests and snow fed lakes. It is the habitat of eagles, musk deer, mountain goat as well as the legendary snow leopard.

The Valley is also home to rich ethnic diversity including Tamang, Sherpa, Gurung and Brahmin communities. In the upper reaches you will be able to experience Buddhist culture and lifestyle and visit wonderful monasteries.

The trekking trail follows the course of Tamakoshi River and passes through the splendid Tsho-Rolpo Lake fed by glaciers. Multiple itineraries are available on this route including the choice to cross the Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755m), one of the highest passes in the Himalayas.

But you can also choose to avoid the pass and return the same route without the need to take the permit.
