Overview

Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini-Chitwan Tour program is an all inclusive-tour highlighting the best touristic places in Nepal. It offers you a unique opportunity to visit three world heritage sites in one trip. 
 
The tour starts off with sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley. A world heritage site, Kathmandu Valley hosts seven world heritage monuments which include three medieval palaces (Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square), two Buddhist monuments (Swoyambhu Stupa and Bouddha Stupa) and two Hindu temples (Pashupatinath and Changu Narayan). The three squares consist of 17th century palaces, courtyards, statues all built in authentic Newari architecture.  
 
Pokhara is a city best known for Phewa and Begnas lakes, Bat cave, International Mountain Museum and beautiful panorama of Annapurna, Macchapuchre and Dhaulagiri peaks. You can also hike to world peace pagoda, boat on Phewa lake or go for paragliding ride from Sarangkot. 
 
You will next head for a tour of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, where recent archaeological excavation has revealed important sites and artifacts such as Puskarni pond, Ashoka statue, nativity stone etc. Listed as a world heritage site, Lumbini also hosts crane sanctuary, peace meditation center, Lumbini Research Center, international monasteries and peace stupa.  
 
You will finally visit Chitwan National Park, another world heritage site, known for such rare species as Tiger, Rhinos, Elephants and Crocodiles. There are multiple jungle activities you can involve in including learning about Tharu culture and lifestyle. 
 
The tour also includes side visit to Nargarkot hill for beautiful sunrise and Himalayan views as well as the medieval town of Tansen, Palpa.

Trip Itinerary

On your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by our airport representative. You will be greeted traditionally with flower garlands and then take you to your  hotel. In the afternoon, you can take a stroll around and visit shops, restaurants and bars.

On the second day, following morning breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you for city sightseeing. On this day you will visit popular world heritage monuments in Kathmandu including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swoyambhunath, Budanilkantha and Pashupatinath. By late afternoon you will be back in your hotel.

City tour continues on the third day. After breakfast, the tour guide will pick you up from your hotel as we will head towards Patan, one of the three medieval cities of Kathmandu Valley. You will enjoy and revel at the many architectural wonders of Patan Durbar Square like Krishna Mandir, statue of Bhupatindra Malla, Golden Temple, Namo Buddha and so on. The experience of walking through the narrow cobbled alleyways and discovering the age-old culture and tradition of local people will take you back in time. You will also be able to make a side-trip to Bungamati village for authentic Newari experience.

After visiting Patan, you will set off for Nagarkot, one of the most popular hill stations in Nepal. Nagarkot, located at 2195m alititude, is one of the best spots to see the magnificent Himalayas along with eternal sunset and sunrise views.

You will wake up early today to see the sunrise over the Himalayas. A sumptuous breakfast awaits as you enjoy the sunrise views. Afterwards you will leave Nagarkot and drive towards Changu Narayan, one of the oldest temples inscribed in the World Heritage Site.

Changu Narayan consists of the oldest stone engravings along with local museum. The surrounding villages offer a glimpse of rural Nepal with rolling green hills and fields.  Later you will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another world heritage site. Bhaktapur has much to offer to the tourists from medieval temples and statues to pottery square and museums. Nyatapola Temple, 55-windows palaces are examples some of the unique Himalayan architecture that places it among the best destinations within Kathmandu Valley.

Drive back to Kathmandu to your hotel.

After early morning breakfast, you will either drive or fly to Chitwan National Park. Chitwan National Park is a world heritage site and is the oldest national park of Nepal. It is home of the rare and endangered one horned rhinoceros, elephants, and tigers. You can enjoy an elephant back safari or nature walk through the tall elephant grass. In the evening enjoy cultural programs conducted by Tharu, one of the indigenous communities of the Terai.

Stay overnight at camp or lodge.

Today you enjoy a full day of jungle activities that will include elephant back safari, nature walks, canoe or boat ride, jeep drive, elephant bathing, bird watching, etc. as time permits. All outings will be guided by trained local naturalists and guides. Animals and birds to be seen are rhinoceros, crocodiles, bear, monkeys, several species of deer, pythons, peacocks, hornbills, woodpeckers (amongst more than 400 species of birds recorded in the park). If lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the elusive tiger or leopard. One more activity includes a walk through Tharu villages.

After breakfast you can go on a morning nature walk. Later you will drive to Lumbini.

After breakfast you can go for a sightseeing in and around Lumbini. Lumbini is the birthplace of Buddha. You will visit the following important sites:

Sacred Garden: The Sacred Garden was where Buddha was born in 623 BC. The garden is marked by a marker stone, the exact spot where Buddha descended at birth.  

Ashoka Pillar: This stone pillar was erected by Emperor Ashoka to marked the birth spot of Buddha, almost 800 years after Buddha was born. The pillar carries inscription in pali script.

Puskarni or Mayadevi Pond: Puskarni Pond sits right in front of Mayadevi Temple. The pond is considered to be sacred since it was here Queen Mayadevi took a bath before giving birth to Buddha.

Lumbini Museum and Lumbini Research Center: These two are located within a few meters of each other. The museum has a substantial collection of Buddhist manuscripts, sculptures and coins dating back to 4th century. The Research Center is currently being developed as a knowledge repository for the benefit of scholars, researchers, students, pilgrims as well as travelers. There are over 12,000 books on religion, philosophy, art and architecture preserved in the center.

Tilaurankot, Kudan, Gothihawa, Niglihawa, Devdaha, Sagarhawa are other important places around Lumbini.

After early morning breakfast, we will drive to Palpa and reach by afternoon. We will visit the medieval Palpa Palace built by Sen Kings and Ranighat at the confluence of Kaligandaki and and Ridi river. Srinaga Danda offers beautiful views of the Himalayas including Annapurna, Langtang, Ganesh and Dhaulagiri. You can enjoy romantic sunset views in the evening.

After breakfast, you will drive to Pokhara.

After breakfast, you will take a short drive to Sarangkot (1600m) for sunrise and mountain views. In the afternoon you will go sightseeing to Mahendra Cave, Davi's Fall, Barahi Mandir, Chamera (Bat) Cave and enjoy boating on Phewa Lake.

Stay overnight in hotel.

After breakfast, we will drive back to Kathmandu enjoy scenic views of rolling green hills, rivers and villages along the meandering highways.

In case you would like to fly back to Kathmandu, the flight takes about 30 minutes.
