Autumn Heralds Hope For Nepal Tourism Industry

Published 17th Oct, 2016

Nepal Tourism Industry is hopeful that the tourists will return to Nepal in large numbers this autumn season paving a way for bright future for Nepalese economy.

The autumn season in Nepal signifies the beginning of a host of festivals. The festivities begin with the biggest Nepali festival of Dashain and Tihar. Long official holidays are observed for the celebration as families get together to receive auspicious blessings, eat delicious cuisines and rejuvenate family bonding. Other festivals in the calendar include Chhath, Lhosar, Udhauli etc.

Autumn is also the best time to visit Nepal. During this time of year, cloudy skies give way to clear blue horizon with views of stunning snow capped mountains. Flowers bloom profusely across the hills and mountain regions beckoning trekkers and mountaineers from all corners of the world.

As compared to previous year, this year, Nepal has seen some solid recovery in tourism. The impact of the earthquake 2015 and subsequent border blockade is slowly receding as is proven by the increasing number of tourist arrival in the country. Tourism makes significant contribution to Nepal’s economy and directly benefits rural communities.
