Overview

The Langtang Ganja La Pass initially passes through villages of Syabrubesi, Lama Hotel and Langtang before making a cross over Ganja La pass at 5100m. The pass is a great vantage point to view Langtang Himalayan ranges which include Dorje Lakpa (6990m), Langtang Ri (6370m),Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Yala (5520m), and Morimoto (6150m). The Langtang village that was completely destroyed by the earthquake of April 2015 has been opened again for trekkers. Kyanjin Gompa (3870m) is perhaps the biggest Buddhist monastery you will come across in this trail.

Langtang Ganja La Pass trek is located in popular Langtang Region, about 60km north of Kathmandu. The trek leads you onto a fascinating journey into Langtang as well as Helambu valley offering trekkers a rare mix of culture, nature and the Himalayas.

The culture and lifestyles of Tamang inhabitants of Langtang is similar to their Tibetan cousin across the border.

Much of the langtang trek trails touch Langtang National Park which is forested with pine, maple, oak, rhododendrons etc. The forest is inhabited by endangered, unique species like Red Pandas, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Tahr and even Yeti! In the second leg of the trail, you will make a gradual descent to Helambu. Helambu is a small community of Sherpa people renowned for their hospitality and apples.

There are lodges available along the trail, however you will also do camping for a few nights.
Overall Langtang Ganja La pass trek is a strenuous one. You will require the knowledge of using rope and ice axes along with glacier walking to successfully complete this trek. Nepal Environmental Treks & Expedition provides experienced guides and excellent service.
