Overview

Namobuddha is situated at an elevation of 1750m. It is very important Buddhist Pilgrimage which lies about 38 kilometers east of Kathmandu. Namo Buddha is an ancient holy site where story goes that a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving Tigress to save her lives and her cubs. This legendary episode is artistically and colofrully depicted in a stone slab placed right next to a holy Stupa. 
 
Early in the morning, you drive from Kathmandu for about one and a half hours to the place called Dhapasi, 35 kilometers east of Kathmandu. 
 
The trail heads northeast until you cross on a suspension bridge. On both sides small villages, huge rice fields, and people harvesting will fill your eyes. The trail goes steeply uphill about an hour ultimately reaching Namobuddha. After a local tour, you will drive back to Kathmandu via Dhulikhel in about one & half hours.
