Overview

Kathmandu-Pokhara-Lumbini Tour offers you a unique opportunity to visit all the Buddhist Shrines in these three destinations. Kathmandu Valley itself is a world heritage site and there are numerous Buddhist monasteries that could be of interest to you. Keeping this in consideration, we have designed to include visits to Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath, Kopan Monastery and Chabahil Stupa in Kathmandu. We will then go to Changu Narayna, another world heritage monument in Bhaktapur before heading to Nagarkot, a popular hill station for watching sunrise and the Himalayas.

Our next destination is Pokhara where we will spend time visiting World Peace Stupa and Tibetan Refugee Camp. Our final stop is in Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha. Lumbini is a sacred place for Buddhists all over the world and hosts precious artifacts, relics, and Buddhist scripts that dates back to Buddha’s period.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival to Kathmandu.

Arrival to Kathmandu. Our airport representative will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Welcome drinks will be served. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 : Sightseeing tour of various Buddhist shrines

Sightseeing tour of Buddhist shrines like the Swayambhunath Stupa. You visit Pharping with a Monastery & Chovar Gorge. You also visit Mahaboudha in Patan, Machhendra Nath, Min Nath and Rudra Varna Mahavihar. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 : Sightseeing tour of various Buddhist Shrines

Sightseeing tour of Buddhist Shrines. You visit shrines such as Chabahil Stupa & Boudhanath Stupa, Around Boudhanath stupa there are several other smaller Stupas to visit. From here, we drive on to Kopan Monastery for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 : At the Kopan Monastery

At the Kopan Monastery where we learn about the history of the monastery and participate with some prayers. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : Drive to Changu Narayan and Bhaktapur.

Drive to Changu Narayan and Bhaktapur. You enjoy sightseeing in and around here. After sightseeing, we take an half hour drive to Nagarkot to see the spectacular Himalayan range of Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse & the stunning sunset view. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 : We enjoy a breathtaking sunrise while sipping tea.

We enjoy a breathtaking sunrise while sipping tea. On the same day we drive to scenic Pokhara. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 : Full day sightseeing

Full day sightseeing of Peace Stupa, Monasteries & the Tibetan Refugee Camp in Hangja. We also do boating on the serene Phewa Lake & a cycling tour around the lakeside. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 : Drive down to Lumbini via Syangja

After breakfast we drive down to Lumbini via Syangja (5 hours) and visit Buddhist places & the quiet Lumbini Gardens. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 : We fly back to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa.

We fly back to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa. This day is free to do your own things. Send some post cards home or do some last minute shopping; or just stay in your room and reflect on your wonderful holiday. You stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 : Transfer to Airport for departure

Our airport representative will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight home.
