Overview

Our Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar tour takes you to both the amazing spiritual and natural spots, holy Mount Kailash and the sacred Lake Mansarovar. This is a lifetime experience for you to achieve the ultimate dream to attaining Mokshya. You will make a complete circumambulation or Kora of Mt. Kailash which will take three days. You will be accompanied by our Nepali and Tibetan tour guide throughout your journey.

Mt Kailash or Kangri Rimpoche is perhaps the most revered mountain in the world. Situated in Tibet province of China, Mt. Kailash (6638m) is ultimate pilgrimage center for Bons, Buddhists, Hindus and Jains.

Bons and Buddhists believe that Mt. Kailash is the spot where Guru Rimpoche and Buddha meditated to achieve enlightenment. Hindus on the other hand regard Mt. Kailash as the abode of Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati. For them visiting this mountain is a sure way to attain salvation or mokshya. Similarly the first saint of Jainism, Rishabh is said to have meditated in this mountain before getting liberation or freedom.

Similarly, situated at a few kilometers south of Kangri Rimpoche is the Mapam Yumtso or Mansarovar Lake (4590m) which is equally sacred and visited by followers of all religions. According to Buddhists, this lake is where mother of Buddha bathed before she gave birth to Buddha. Hindus dip in the lake to rid oneself of all mortal sins and secure a place in heaven.

The Mt. Kailash and Mansarovar tour begins in Kathmandu from where you will fly to Nepalgunj and then to Simikot. You will then take a helicopter flight to Hilsa in Tibet. The travel within Tibet will be conducted on a four wheel drive. You will make your way back to Nepal via Kerung town situated along Nepal-China border
