Overview

Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel trek is one of the nearest treks from Kathmandu Valley. A one hour ride from Kathmandu will take you to Sundarijal, the starting point of this trek. 
 
Sundarijal is a source of drinking water for much of Kathmandu and is also gateway to Shivapuri National Park. The trekking trail passes through forested hills and streams to reach Chisapani (2300m), a typical village inhabited by Tamang community. 
 
After an overnight stay, you will continue your trek to Nagarkot (2195m). Nagarkot is one of the famous tourist hills in Kathmandu Valley known for its beautiful sunrise views and Himalayan panorama. On a clear sunny day the chances of seeing Everest, Langtang, Gaurishankar and Ganesh Himal ranges is very likely. 
 
Next you will drop down to Dhulikhel, another vibrant town. You can’t miss a visit to Namo Buddha, one of the most important Buddhist shrines, nearby. 
 
Chisapani Nagarkot Dhulikhel trek is an easy trek suitable for trekkers of all ages. The trek is possible in all seasons throughout the year. 

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1350m)

After early morning breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1350m) that takes about one and a half hour along the paved road.  Climb off at Sundarijal bus station and begin your trek uphill Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. Stop at Mulkharka village for lunch and thereafter ascend to Borlang Bhanjyang (2430m) and trek down to Chisopani (2215m). Chisopani offers magnificent views from Annapurna to Everest and beautiful sunrise and sunset views.

Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 2 : Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot takes about six and half hours.

Trek from Chisapani to Nagarkot takes about six and half hours. You continue walking through charming trail that leads you to Nagarkot. Nagarkot (2175m) is by far one of the most popular hilltops to watch clear views of Himalaya range stretching from Dhaulagiri and Annapurna in the west to Everest and Kanchenjunga in the east. This is also best spot to view sunrise and sunset.

Day 3 : Trek from Nagarkot to Dhulikhel takes about six hours.

After experiencing the magical Nagarkot, you are guided along the hiking trail towards Dhulikhel. As you approach Dhulikhel, a plethora of cultural diversities, interesting traditional practices, lush vegetation and rich bird life unfolds before you. Dhulikhel is also a popular viewpoint to see Himlayan peaks.

Day 4 : Trek from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha and then to Panauti takes approximately four

Trek from Dhulikhel to Namo Buddha and then to Panauti takes approximately four and a half hours and thereafter drive from Panauti to Kathmandu for about one and half hours.

From Dhulikhel, the trail gradually ascends to Namo Buddha (1750m), one of the four important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Kathmandu Valley. Afterwards trek from Namo Buddha on a level trail all the way to Panauti. Panauti is an ancient Newari town featuring Goddess Kali Temple.

Enjoy a short sightseeing in Panauti and then drive back to Kathmandu.
