Langtang Gosainkunda Trek

Langtang Gosainkunda Trek

Langtang Gosainkunda Trek combines the remote and spectacular valley of Langtang, with the high mountain lakes at Gosainkunda. You can visit the beautiful Langtang National park and then trek to the end of the langtang valley to view the wonderful mountains views.

Following the Trishuli River north out of Kathmandu, you travel through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubesi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of the Langtang National Park. You then swing east into the Langtang valley, crossing the river several times as you travel up along a gorge-like, lower section of the valley. You pass through oak and rhododendron forests and cross glacial moraine on your way to the Tamang village of Langtang.

A little further up the valley is Kyangin Gompa, where you stop overnight and sample the local yak cheese. You pass through Nubamatang, nestled in a hidden valley, on your way up to view the glaciers, which mark the gateway into Tibet. You travel through Syabru and Sing Gompa to a high plateau, where the sacred Gosiankunda lake is located. Crossing the Lauribina Pass (4610m.), you continue south, leaving the Langtang region behind you as you travel through the Helambu valley to Gul Bhanjyang.

    Gosainkunda Lake Trek

We have just completed a 15 days trek to Gosainkunda. We had a most exhilarating trip - a highly stimulating experience. Our team of 9 porters, a guide and a cook were excellent. They took care of all our needs not only were they highly efficient, but also very lively and entertaining.

Ram Chandra Ghising who was a wonderful organizer and Norbu Tamang our cook whose cooking was excellent and extremely inventive. The team as a whole took excellent care of us.

Looking back on the last month, an amazing trek to Gosainkunda, a Buddhist wedding, Chitwan trip, Paragliding in Pokhara, Bungee jumping, Mountain biking, and also much more. None of which would have been possible without the constant assistance of Nava and his team.

Thank you all so much. Much appreciation and good fortune to go.
