Highlights

Overview

Langsisa Ri is located in the Langtang region, directly north of Kathmandu, in the famous Langtang Valley.

Although it is regarded as a trekking peak, Langsisa Ri offers an expedition style climbing experience. In fact, it is one of the most difficult and technically challenging among trekking peaks. Therefore interested climbers will be required to have some experience about climbing and skills like glacier walking, rope fixing and using ice axe.

The first few days of your journey will be spent in the Langtang Valley. You will visit Syabrubesi, Kyanjing Gompa, Cheese Factory, local villages and enjoy and learn the rich Tamang Culture which is quite closely related to Tibetan culture. This part of Langtang region falls within Langtang National Park, which means that you will be able to spot rare and beautiful wildlife species such as snow leopard, red panda, rhesus monkeys, Himalayan Tahr and even yet in the forests of pines and rhododendron.

From Langsisa Base Camp it takes only two days to reach the summit of Langsisa Ri. The peak offers panoramic sights of Dorje Lakpa (6,988m), Langtang Lirung(7,246m), Shishapangma (8,035m), Kyunga Ri (6601m), Naya Kang (5744m), Yala peak(5,535m) among others. After summiting the peak you will retrace the same route back to Syabrubuesi.
