Highlights

Overview

Jomsom Muktinath Deluxe Trek offers you the most comfortable and luxury journey into the world famous Annapurna Region.

The trek is an easy family trek and can be done by trekkers of any age bracket. The entire trekking route falls below 4000 meters and still provides a Himalayan experience as good as any other treks in the Annapurna region.

Jomsom Muktinath Deluxe Trek allows you the best of adventure and culture. You will witness spectacular Himalayan views of the world’s seventh and tenth highest mountains, Mt. Dhaulagiri and Mt. Annapurna respectively. You will also have an eyeful of Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world.

The major highlight of this trek is the visit to the temple of Chumig Gyatsa or the Muktinath Temple, Nepal’s most famous pilgrimage site with one hundred and eight stone taps and marvelous mud sculptures of Avalokiteswara and eternal light of peace.

Perhaps the best feature of Jomsom Muktinath Deluxe Trek is that it can be done throughout the year as the region falls under the rain shadow area. Other attractions of this trek are the unique culture and cuisine of Thakali people and natural hot spring at Tatopani.

After descending through the rhododendron forest, fine vistas open up as you approach Chitre, with the Dhaulagiri Range straight ahead. The path then leads through terraced fields to Sikha, a Magar village clustered on a ridge. You continue to descend, gradually at first and then more steeply to cross the Ghar Khola. After a short climb, you then cross the Kali Gandaki on a large suspension bridge and from here it is only a short distance upstream to Tatopani. When the rock cliffs end, you descend to the river before making the short climb back up to Ghasa. Stay overnight at lodge.

Jomsom Muktinath Trek

"If you can t decide whether you want a guide with Nepal Environmental, please read this! I had the same problem 14 days ago. I walked into the office reluctantly, because I had been traveling alone for 3 months around South East Asia, and was not about to hire a guide, let alone allow a company to hire one for me!" "However after speaking with the managing Director and remembering a conversation I had had with a friend who trekked in Nepal several times, I changed my perspective on things. First Nava Raj, the director, seemed very perceptive and caring, and I tusked that he would hire similar people to work for his company. In fact, this was the case. My guide, Krishna, was extremely kind, competent, trust worthy, and most of all, professional. I met several guides and porters along my trek to Kagbeni and back, and not all of them seemed 100% caring, component. I ran into one woman who was having a problem with her guide. However I met about 10-12 guides/porters from Nepal Environmental, and not only did I find them to be warm, fun, and competent, but so did their trekkers. It seems to me that Nava Raj has a unique ability to select 1) very wonderful people to work for him, and 2) to have the intuitive sense to know which guides to pair with which trekkers."

Jomsom - Muktinath - Pokhara

Fantastic 11 day trek through some wonderful scenery and landscape. A brilliant way to meet a Nepali and also some Tibetans. We were very well looked after by our guide, Krishna and porter Bhakta. Always the best rooms and food in the teahouses. For someone whose only experience is golf, Krsihna make sure the pace was just right for me ! We had a great fun, singing and dancing on some evenings. Chitwan - Again a brilliant experience. Saw lots of animals and birds, including a bear. Bathing with the elephant cannot be missed. Jungle activities were catered to meet our interests. We shall be recommending Nepal Environmental to our friends back home. If you're reading this and not too certain of going on a trek - Don't hesitate, go for it. You will be well cared for and looked after. Many thanks to all and in particular Krishna and Bhakta.
