Overview

Everest is undoubtedly a paradise for trekkers and travellers alike. Among many trekking routes in Everest, Everest Three Passes Trek in particular is the longest and most adventurous trekking route there is.

As the name suggests, Everest 3 Passes involves crossing of three highest Himalayan passes, namely Renjo La (5300m), Cho La (5420m) and Kongma La (5545m). The 3 Passes are rugged high passes that link the major valleys of the Everest Region. Crossing them and climbing the peaks of Kala Pathar (5545m) and Gokyo Ri (5360m) provides an unforgettable Himalayan experience.

All along the trekking trail you will be greeted with magnificent mountain views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyo, Amadablam and many more. The 3 passes will be a vantage point for capturing these mountains in its full glory. The impressive sight of the emerald Gokyo Lake (4870m), one of the highest wetland sites in the world, is something you will not miss on this trek.

Whilst passing through numerous villages, you will have a quality time in the buzzing town of Namche for acclimatization and cultural exploration. Prepare to immerse yourself in the unique Sherpa culture and hospitality and appreciate local cuisines. Opportunities remain galore for you to visit ancient Buddhist monasteries in Tyangboche, Thame and other places.

Everest Three passes trek is physically very demanding but the rewards are high. Although you have to cross the three high passes above 5000 m, you do not require any technical climbing skills. Anyone with sound fitness and good health can complete the trek.
