itinerary
Drive from Kathmandu to Gorkha takes about five hours. From Gorkha Bazaar 45 minutes walk up to the Gorkha palace which is the nice view point and an important historical place related to King Prithivi Narayan Shah, visit there about 15 minutes around the palace with enjoying nice views and 10 minutes walk to the campsite (Kalikasthan 1650m). The campsite is a very nice view point of Boudha Himal, Himchuli and Manaslu.). Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Gorkha to Putalikhet (1040 m.) takes about 6 hours. After a gradual descent trail for about 3 hours, you reach Chepetar village (small Bazaar) where Gurungs and Kumals live. After walking a straight trail for half an hour, crossing around bridge and climbing for another half an hour through the jungle trail and you reach Chowk village. You will then trek through a gradual descent for half an hour and reach Khar Khola. You will the reach the hot spring bath spot at Bulbule Khar after ascending along the banks of the river. Finally you walk for half an hour through fields to your camp. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Putalikhet to Ampipal takes seven hours. After an hour of steady climbing you reach Luintel Bhanjyang. From here you follow a straight trail and gradually ascend through fields and jungle and Ampipal and where you camp. From here the views of Boudh Himal (6,672m) and Gorkha Himal are stunning. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Ampipal to Ramche (1000 m.) which takes about seven hours. After a 2 hour gradual descent and you approach Humri Bhanjyang market and again you gradually climb ON a straight trail to Ramche and camp. From here you have good views of the Boudha Himal and Gorkha Himal. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Ramche to Dharapani takes approximately six and half hours. You continue climbing gradually ON a straight trail for three hours through forests and fields until you reach Chanyari Danra market. Ganesh Himal and Gorkha Himal and Boudha Himal can be seen from here. You descend through villages to Dharapani and camp. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Dharapani to Kharibot (1500 m.) takes about five and half hours. You have a slight climb on straight trail for three hours until you get to Bhachchak and from where Boudha Himal and Ganesh Himal can be seen. From here you descend down to Kharibot and camp. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Kharibot to Bhaisi Kharka takes about eight hours. You start with a steep climb for three hours through fields and the Apung village until you reach Siran Danda. If the weather is bad for 2 or 3 days you have to walk through snow. You can see some peaks and Dordi Khola. Another four and half hours walk through dense jungle will take you to Tapi Danda. From here ten minutes walk take you to your camp at Bhaisikharka. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Bhaisi Kharka to Dudh Pokhari (5390 m.) takes about eight hours. It takes almost one and a half hours to reach the ridge from where you can see the magnificent views of massive peaks: Boudha Himal, Gorkha Himal and Himal Chuli (7,893m), Manaslu Himal (8,150m), Ganesh Himal range and glaciers. You have steep ascents and descents for about 4 hrs. to Daraundi Khola. Again the trail ascends along the bank of Daraundi Khola to Dudh Pokhari for 3 hrs. You again descend to our camp at Dudh Pokhari from where you can enjoy astonishing views of mountains and glaciers. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Dudh Pokhari to Ninghalaghari (4590m.) takes about seven hours. This day you descend until you reach the destination passing through forests covered with bamboo, rhododendron, pine and other plants and shrubs. There lies the possibility of encountering bear, leopard, monkeys, deer and various local colorful birds. Sometimes you can enjoy the mountain views. Ninghalaghari is a campsite surrounded by forests covered mainly by bamboos and green hills. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Ninghalaghari to Chyadi Danda (3600m.) takes about seven hours. After walking gentlly downhill for few minutes you begin to trek uphill until you reach Chyadi Danda. En route you walk through forests and can enjoy mountain sceneries and villages at far distance. Chyadi Danda is a ridge surrounded by forests and green hills. From here, you can see the beautiful mountain views as well. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Chyadi Danda to Tonje (1850m.) takes about seven hours. To reach Tonje, you have to trek through sparse forests and the trail is quite up and down. Tonje is a small village mainly inhabited by Gurung tribe. You will be heartily welcome by local people and can enjoy cultural show. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Tonje to Duwar (975m.) takes about six hours. The trail is down and sloppy. You walk through villages and along the river bank. Duwar is a comparatively bigger village than Tonje and here too you will be experiencing the traditional custom and behavior of local people. Stay overnight at camp.
Trek from Duwar to Besisahar (760m.) takes about three hours. The trail is quite comfortable as you trek through flat leveled path passing terraces, villages, suspension bridges and can enjoy mountain views, green hills, flowing river at far distance. Stay overnight at camp.
Drive from Besisahar to Kathmandu takes about seven hours. It is a picturesque journey to get back to Kathmandu along the bank of Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers with splendid views of green hills, mountains, farming terraces and villages at both sides of road.
