Overview

Bhutan Mystic tour is a great tour package which gives a visitor the authentic experience of Bhutan. The package covers western Bhutan which offers an exciting chance to visit some of the most famous places of cultural, historical and natural significance.
 
The tour allows you to explore four cities: Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and Gangtey valley. It starts from Paro where you will explore Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s Nest), the ancient watchtower of Ta-dzong and 17th century Rinpung Dzong. Next you head to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan and seat of the Royals and Bhutanese government.
 
Thimphu is chock a block with interesting monuments such as Memorial Chorten, Changankha Monastery and Mini Zoo where you will be able to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. While going to Punakha you will cross Dochu La pass at 3100m altitude offering great views of Mt Chomolhari and other mountains.
 
You will also visit Chimi Lakhang, Punakha Dzong and Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fort in Bhutan. 

Trip Itinerary

Fly from Kathmandu to Paro which takes about 1.45 hrs. It is one of the most spectacular of all mountain flights with aerial views of Mt. Everest, Kanchen Junga, Makalu and other peaks in Bhutan such as Chomolhari, Jichu Drakey and Tsrim Khang. You will be received by our representative at the airport followed by Paro sightseeing.

Hike up to the Taktsang monastery (Tiger’s Nest) takes around 3 hours. It was in the 8th century that Guru Padmasambava landed here on the back of a tigress, and meditated for three months. The present day monastery was built it 1684. Afternoon visit to Ta-dzong, once a watchtower to defend Paro. This dzong was converted into the National Museum in 1967, and is filled with antique thanka paintings, textiles, weapons and armour. Drive to 17th century Rinpung dzong to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders.

After early breakfast explore Satsam Chorten. After lunch drive to Thimphu where you  will visit the National Memorial Chorten (1974) built in honor of late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Then visit Dupthop Lhakhang nunnery and Changangkha Monastery and visit Mini Zoo to see Takin, the national animal of Bhutan.

Stay overnight in hotel. 

Today's full day sightseeing in Thimphu valley. You will visit the National Library, which holds a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts, Institute for Zorig Chusum or Painting School, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum, National Memorial Chorten, fortress Trashichhodzong and Handicrafts Emporium. Before sun set drive to Sangay gang view point (2685 meters) to witness whole Thimphu valley.

Overnight in hotel.

After an early breakfast, you drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass, where you can see 108 Bhutanese Stupas and splendid Himalayan peaks. Further drive to Punakha and visit Punakha Dzong. Punakha is still the winter residence of Je-Khenpo. In the evening you take a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley in 15th century.

Stay overnight at hotel in Punakha.

After an early breakfast, you drive to Wangdue and visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong built in 1638. You further drive to Gangtey valley where you visit Gangtey Gompa monastery. Explore Phobjikha valley, which is famous for endagered black necked cranes. In the evening drive back to Punakha.

Stay overnight at hotel in Punakha.

After breakfast, drive back to Paro. On the way visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan.

Stay overnight in hotel. 

As per your flight schedule, you will be drive to Paro airport for a flight back to Kathmandu.
