Highlights

Overview

Annapurna Panorama Trek is part of Annapurna trek and is one of the shortest routes in the Annapurna region. The trek is relatively easy to do as compared to other trekking routes of Annapurna and appropriate for trekkers of all age groups and physical limits.

Annapurna Panorama Trek offers a fulfilling journey to experience the pristine nature and wildlife and local culture and hospitality as well as exclusive views of Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8,167m.) and Annapurna (8,091m.), Nilgiri (7061m.), Gangapurna (7455m.), Machapuchre (6993m), Lamjung Himal (6983m.), Manaslu (8156m.) and many other named and unnamed snow-capped peaks. You will walk through forests, terraced fields, typical Nepali villages and interact with local communities along the way. The highest point of the trek is Poon Hill (3210m) one of the best vantage point to watch the spectacular views of the snow-capped Himalayas.

Due to its low elevation reach and accessibility, the Annapurna Panorama Trek can be done in all seasons. Especially in Spring season you will be able to enjoy colorful rhododendron flowers all over the hills as forests come alive with greenery and wildlife.

Trip Itinerary

After early morning breakfast, our guide will pick you-up from your hotel to bus station. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) takes about seven hours. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to explore the various sites of Pokhara.

Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. You can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.

Stay overnight at hotel.

Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani (2675 m.) takes approximately 5 hours. The trail this day will be fairly tough. The first 2 hours of the trail steeply ascends up to Birethanthi and then levels up till Ghorepani. The section from Ulleri to Birethanthi provides spectacular views of snowcapped mountains, especially Machapuchre (Mt. Fishtail). You can also enjoy the beautiful rhododendron flowers during March and April along the trail between Birethanthi and Ghorepani.

Stay overnight in Ghorepani.

Poon Hill is a popular viewpoint to see sunrise and majestic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), and Lamjung Himal (6931m.).

You will descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Afterwards you will trek towards Tadapani (2630m) largely through forests. You can clearly see the Himalayas such as Annapurna South, Himchuli and Macchapuchre.

Stay overnight at lodge in Tadapani.

It is a very easy trek by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests. This is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers. Ghandruk is a big Gurung village. From this village you can see good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.

Stay overnight at lodge.

At the beginning of the day, you ascend gently for an hour up to Ghandrukkot (2100m.) and descend steeply to the Kimrung Khola (1700m.) and gently walk up to Jhinudanda. From the town you walk down for 20 minutes to reach Hot Spring at the bank of the Modi Khola. You can unwind yourself at the hot springs.

Stay overnight at lodge.

For the first part of the trek is a descent. Here you find beautiful waterfalls. Beyond this town, the trail ascends gently crossing numerous streams and terraces. After short trek, you will be at Landruk (1640m.). Now the trail gently ascends to Tolka (1850m.) and then ascends to Bherikharka. From here, the trail goes steeply up to Deurali (2100m.) with a view of different mountain peaks in panorama. Now, the trail gradually descends to Pothana passing through different oak forests.

Stay overnight at lodge.

The trail descends gradually for at least an hour and follows gravel road for two hours. It then steeply descends to Phedi passing through Dhampus village, a romantic rural setting of paddy fields and forests protected by local community. Upon your arrival at Dhampus Phedi, you could take a vehicle to reach Pokhara.

Stay overnight at hotel.

While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city of Kathmandu.
