Highlight of the Simikot to Mount Kailash and Lhasa Tour is to trek around the Mt. Kailash and visit the former Gu-ge kingdom with its two main centres of Toling and Tsaparang and visit to Rakshastal (Devil Lake), the holy Lake of Mansarovar, "born from the mind of Bramha"

This trip is a pilgrimage trip to Mt. Kailash the sacred mountain of Tibet, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. Mt Kaliash is the source of four great Asian rivers. For Hindus it is the throne of Shiva, for Buddhists, a gigantic natural Mandala. Also the epicenter of Tantric forces for both religions.

This trek takes you from the far western town of Simikot, along an old trade route into Tibet. An arid, wild, country dominated by the peaks of Api and Saipal Himal, this is the world of the Nepalese and Tibetan traders. You will encounter travelers with horses and yaks laden with goods. After a few days trek on the Nepal side we take you to Tibetan border market Purang where Nepalese, Tibetan and Indian traders meet to exchange wares.

    Simikot – Hilsa – Kailash – Kora Tour - 18 September 2013

We returned yesterday from our Simikot to Hilsa and Kailash Kora.We are very satisfied with your arrangements and except for the daily in Nepalgunj (we took off on the third day) everything has worked out fine. Our Nepali guide, Sailesh has been very helpful, both on the Nepali part and on the Tibet part.

One comment we have is that the food on the Simikot to Hilsa trek was good, but not enough. Our European stomachs require more energy than standard Nepali food can provide. We had with us freeze dried food from Sweden that we had to take at one or two occasions to manage. The food in Tibet on the other hand was excellent. The Kora was completed in only two days and therefore we decided to return to Kathmandu one day early.

To summarize: We are very pleased with the trip and would gladly use your services again!
