Annapurna Base Camp

Short Annapurna Base Camp trek is one of the shortest journeys to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m). Also called Annapurna Sanctuary, the trek will take you through the heart of Annapurna Region and ultimately into the laps of the Annapurna I (8091m), the tenth highest mountain in the world. 
This trek offers you a total Himalayan trekking experience including Nepai hospitality and culture, pristine nature, wildlife and eternal backdrop of the majestic Himalayas. You will pass by typical rural villages, rivers, bamboo and pine forests, waterfalls, caves, etc. The area is predominantly inhabited by Gurung ethnic people whose unique culture and customs will mesmerize any traveler. Take time to stopp at Jhinu Danda hiking experience. This short trek will allow enough to easily acclimatize with the weather and altitude.  
The trek starts from Phedi and ends in Nayapul, and pops along some of the major points of interests include Ghorepani, Machapuchhre Base Camp (3700m), 
Annapurna Base Camp trek. On your way back you will also be spending time in Pokhara, the lake city, the gateway to Annapurna region. 
Short Annapurna Base Camp is a moderate trek suitable for anyone with little or no experience of hiking. The best seasons for Short Annapurna Base Camp is Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, November).

After early-morning breakfast, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the tourist bus station. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) takes about seven hours. This drive will take most of our morning time, leaving much of the afternoon to get a warming glimpse of Pokhara Valley and fall in love with its ethereal beauty.

Pokhara is the tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, Buddhist and Hindu temples along with the magnificent views of mountains. You can observe the glistening white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Phedi (1130 m.) and trek from Phedi to Pothana (1990m.) takes about five hours. From here you begin your trek to Pothana (1900m.). The trail ascends all the way to Pothana through forests till you reach the village called Dhampus. It is a Gurung village which gives you an opportunity to look at the magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu. The ascent trail follows to Pothana through the forests. Stay overnight at lodge.

Trek from Pothana to Jhinudanda (Hot spring) (1800m.) this takes about five hours. While trekking from Pothana to Jhinudanda the trail ascends gently to Deurali and begins to descend up to Bherikharka through forests. You then follow a flat path till you reach Landruk village. The path you follow till Landruk is really exhilarating as you pass through many local villages rich in culture, terrace fields and numerous green hills. From here the trail descends to Modi Khola (stream) and ascends gently all the way to Jhinudanda. Stay overnight at lodge.

Trek from Jhinudanda to Bamboo (2340m) it takes about six and half hours. The trail is steep up through terraces from Jhinudanda to Chhomrong. Passing Chhomrong, the trail descends on a stone staircase and crosses the Chhomrong Khola on a wooden bridge, then climbs out of the side valley. High above the Modi Khola on its west bank, the trail passes through the tiny settlement of Bhanuwa in forests of bamboo and terrace fields and passing through a few small settlements. Climbing further on a rocky trail you reach three hotels at Sinuwa, at 2350m. We keep on climbing through rhododendron forests to Kuldi Ghar, at 2520m. This was once a British sheep breeding project. In winter, it's common to find snow anywhere from this point on. Descend a long, steep stone staircase into deep bamboo and rhododendron forests. It is then a short distance on a muddy trail to Bamboo Lodge (2340m.). Stay overnight at lodge.

Trek from Bamboo to Deurali (3230m.) takes about five hours. You trek gently ascend through bamboo forests with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. The first town you reach is Dovan (2630m.) where there are few lodges and camp sites. Now you pass through muddy trail which traverses high above the river. It takes approximately twenty minutes to reach Deurali (3230m.) Stay overnight at lodge.

Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4170 m.) via Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3820m.) takes about four hours. This is one of the places, where you can enjoy the view of Mount Hiunchuli (6441m.), Annapurna South (7229m.), Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna III (7555m.), Gangapurna (7454m.) and Machhapuchhare or Fish Tail (6997m.). The path follows through alpine forest. After a short trek, you begin to approach Annapurna Base Camp (4170m.). From here, you can see the panoramic views of several peaks. Stay overnight at lodge.

Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan (2630m.) takes about five hours. Now you trek through Himalayan Hotel to Dovan. Stay overnight at lodge. 

Trek from Dovan to Jhinudanda (1750m.) takes about six hours. The path is descent up to Bamboo passing through forests with varieties of rhododendron, oaks and bamboo plants. After Bamboo, the trail goes steeply up to the Kuldi Ghar and now the trail is quite flat until you reach Sinuwa. You trek gradually descends to the Chhomrong Khola and you have to follow stone staircase for almost an hour to reach Chhomrong. The last part of the trail is steeply down to Jhinudanda. From the town you walk down for 20 minutes to reach Hot Spring at the bank of the Modi Khola. You can unwind yourself at the hot springs. Stay overnight at lodge. 

Trek from Jhinudanda to Birethanti (1025m.) takes about five hours. The trail gradually descends all the way to Birethanti along the bank of Modi Khola. En- route, you pass through forests, rice terraces, waterfalls and green scenarios.  Birethanti is a small town with few lodges, shops and human settlements. Now, you walk for almost twenty minutes through flat path up to Nayapul (New Bridge). Here you board vehicle to drive back to Pokhara which takes approximately one and a half hour. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu takes about seven hours. While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city, Kathmandu.
