Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (914m.) takes about seven hours. This drive will take most of the morning, leaving much of the afternoon to explore the various sites of Pokhara. Pokhara is tourist's paradise with full of natural as well as cultural heritage sites such as lakes, caves, temples of Buddhist and Hindus along with mountains. You can observe views to the north across the hills and Phewa Tal (lake) to the white peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. It is also possible to take 25 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead of road journey.

Drive from Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.) takes approximately one and half hours and Nayapul to Ulleri is 3 hrs.
The road from Pokhara to Nayapul is paved and further to Ulleri is a rough road possible only by 4 wheel vehicle. Now you begin your trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani via Birethanti (1065m.) which takes about three and a half hours. The section from Ulleri to Birethanthi provides spectacular views of snowcapped mountains, especially Machapuchre (Mt. Fishtail). You can also enjoy the beautiful rhododendron flowers during March and April along the trail between Birethanthi and Ghorepani.

Early morning hike up to Poon Hill (3232 m.) takes about one hour.
Poon Hill is a popular viewpoint to see sunrise and majestic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m.), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.), Annapurna South (7219m.), Annapurna III (7855m.), Machhapuchhare (6993m.), Annapurna IV (7525m.), Annapurna II (7937m.), and Lamjung Himal (6931m.). You will descend back to Ghorepani for breakfast. Afterwards you will trek towards Tadapani (2630m) largely through forests. You can clearly see the Himalayas such as Annapurna South, Himchuli and Macchapuchre from Tadapani.

It is a very easy trek by descending gently all the way through rhododendron, oak and other kinds of dense forests.
This is one of the popular destinations for the birds' lovers. Ghandruk is a big Gurung village. From this village you can see good views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna (7455m.), Annapurna III (7755m.) and Fishtail.

Drive from Ghandruk to Nayapul on a rough road and then from there to Pokhara on a paved highway. You will pass through many villages and rivers en route.

Early morning after breakfast drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes about seven hours.
While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city, Kathmandu.
You can also take 25 minutes flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu instead of long drive.
