Deepest Condolence!

86 years old Min Bahadur Sherchan, the oldest mountaineer to have ever attempted to climb Mt. Everest, died at the base camp of Mt Everest on on 6 May 2017.

A former British Gurkha veteran and originally from Myagdi district of western Nepal, Sherchan started his mountaineering as early as 1960 when he successfully climbed Mt. Dhaulagiri. In 2008 he set the record of becoming the oldest person to climb Mt. Everest at the age of 76, which was later broken by Japanese mountaineer Yuichiro Miura.

As we stand to salute the determination and courage of late Mr. Sherchan, I express my deepest condolences to his family and friends. May the passing soul rest in eternal peace.
