On 26 August, the Government of Nepal fully expanded the ministerial cabinet by adding 13 new ministers. The total number of Ministers including state ministers is 30 excluding the Prime Minister.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered oath of office and secrecy to the 13 newly-appointed ministers during a ceremony held at at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas.
Among the appointees, Mr. Jeevan Bahadur Shahi of Nepali Congress party, has been elected as new Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
The four main priorities of the new Government are
• To complete peace process
• To effectively implement the constitution
• To speed-up national reconstruction and rebuilding programs following the Earthquake 2015
• To promote and consolidate friendly relations with India and China along with other countries
