Baruntse Expedition

Baruntse Expedition (7129 m.)

Baruntse peak itself is surrounded by Imja Tse and Barun Glacier on north and east. Some of the risks of climbing the peak is its snow and hanging glaciers, occasional avalanches and wind.  The expedition also involves the climbing of Mera Peak (6476m) before the final summit push.

Located in Khumbu region of eastern Nepal, Baruntse peak is 7162m in height, making it one of the tallest trekking peaks in the Himalayas.

The first team to climb the peak included Edmund Hillary, Colin Todd and Geo Harrow, all from New Zealand. Since the peak is located in remote region, the total number of days for climbing Baruntse Peak will be at least 30 days.
