Highlights

Overview

Mt. Abi is one of the classic trekking peaks situated in the Gokyo Valley of Everest Region. The peak is 6097m tall and lies in Mahalangur Himal range. According to Sherpa language, Abi means ‘small mountain’.

Mt. Abi can be seen to spread out into two identical peaks in what seems like a pyramid. Thus the mountain is often referred to as Kangchung Twins and often separately called as Kangchung (6103m) and Cholo peak (6089m). Both of these peaks could be an adventure in itself.

The only challenge of climbing Kangchung summit is to overcome an icefall. However, wind, snow, short but steep vertical approach can be overwhelmingly tough even for seasoned climbers. Likewise climbing Cholo is far more easier. With the right use of rope and axes, climbers can conveniently make it to the summit through a narrow snow gully and past the ridges.

We offer you a team of highly experienced Sherpa climbers and guides who have already climbed the Abi peak. Their expertise and support will be vital in conquering these two beautiful mountains.
